Some dogs love everybody. Others (and a lot of Eurasiers fall into this category) need more time to learn that the world - and the people in it - can be safe.
Cosmo is a beautiful red male Eurasier and underneath his anxiety is an incredibly smart, loyal and loving dog.
Sadly, Cosmo has nipped through fear, so we are looking for an understanding home who will follow our management guidance, and no children under 16.
He was recently adopted but has not been accepted by the resident male dog. He's been assessed by a behaviourist who feels he could potentially live with another calm female dog following successful introductions, as long as they give him space. (We always advise separate spaces, feeding and awareness of resources like toys).
He would also be happy as an only dog.
He can react to dogs/strangers while out on walks, so continued training will be important. He lacks confidence and social skills and learning that other dogs can be friends will be great for him.
He needs a secure, private garden and a calm home in a quiet location without lots of passing excitement, with kind, patient people who won't expect everything to be perfect on day one, or even day 30. People who will give him time without pressure, celebrate the little wins, and reassure him when things don't go so well.
His people will need to put the work in, but the rewards will be amazing. Earning the trust of a nervous dog can result in one of the strongest bonds you'll ever have.
